Te audacter itineri committe

Boldly embark on your journey!

Most people out there enjoy travelling. To visit other places, countries and cultures and witness their wonders. However, visiting as many countries as possible has, in recent decades, become a sort of challenge or game, to see who can visit them all. In short, there are many reasons to go out and travel and the same thing can also be said for those countries which are not recognized by the UN Member States, such as micronations. In fact, visiting micronations can often be even more fun than visiting macronations. The creativity and passion poured into them can make a visit more unique and memorable than many “standard” trips to macronational sights and locations. And we feel that it is about time to promote and encourage micronational travel but also to make it easier and even more interesting.

Thus, with these goals in mind, the Micronational Travel and Sightseeing Association was created, to bring travellers and micronationalists alike together and make micronational travel the great undertaking it was always meant to be.

The Basics

Why Even Visit Micronations?
Commonly, micronations are thought of as smaller countries with small territories and, consequently, with less things to see. However, while this is generally true, compared to macronations, that doesn't mean that a visit to a micronation is a waste of time. For even if there isn't much to see within a micronation, it's often not about what's there, it's what you make of it. Small monuments and sights can be just as amazing as bigger one's, with the right story and presentation. And in many cases they are, most certainly, much more unique and creative.
Moreover, due to their (more often than not) small territories and also often out of the way locations, just getting to a micronation can be an adventure in its own. It's not that much of a challenge to visit most macronations but your trip to a micronation is almost certain to be memorable and adventurous.
Additionally, a trip to a micronation is almost always much more personal than a visit to a macronation. If you go to Germany, the chance's of the President meeting you are rather slim. But if you visit Molossia, you are certainly going to come across their President.
Furthermore, for those among us who are on the lookout for unique souvenirs, which souvenirs are more unique than those from micronations? And one can, of course, not forget about the exclusive passport stamps.
Lastly, there are only so many macronations out there. If you travel an awful lot, you are bound to visit all of them at some point. But with the number of micronations possibly numbering in the several hundreds and with more being created all the time, it is highly unlikely you'll ever run out of micronations to visit.

Thus, micronational travel is probably one of the best kinds of travel there is!
